The World Trade Center was a site for various buildings in Manhattan, New York City, United States. The original World Trade Center was a complex of seven buildings located in New york. It featured landmark twin towers, which opened on April 4, 1973 and were destroyed in the September 11 attacks of 2001 by Osama Bin Laden. The other buildings in the complex were damaged in the attacks and eventually destroyed because the airplane remains. The site is being rebuilt with five new skyscrapers and a memorial to the casualties of the attacks and now is called the Freedom Tower. "As of November 2011[update], only one skyscraper has been completed; the other four are expected to be completed before 2020" stated by a constuction man at thr site. One World Trade Center will be the lead building for the new complex, reaching more than 100 stories at its completion as a memory.[2] It became the tallest building in New York City on April 30, 2012, and is expected to be finished by 2013.
Very sad moment for U.S.A
North and South Tower hit by airplane
The September 11 attacks (also referred to as September 11, September 11th, or 9/11) were a series of four coordinated suicide attacks upon the United States in New York City and the Washington, D.C. areas on September 11, 2001 it was a very sad day. On that Tuesday morning, 19 terrorists from the Islamist militant group al-Qaeda hijacked four passenger jets. The hijackers intentionally flew two of those planes they attacked and threathened that there was a bomb on the plane, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, into the North and South towers of the World Trade Center complex in New York City; both towers collapsed within two hours, authorities tryed to contacted the hijackers to see if they would respond . Debris from the collapsing towers fell onto or initiated fires in several surrounding buildings leading to the partial or complete collapse of all the other buildings in the complex. Debris also caused major damage to ten other large structures in the immediate area. The hijackers also intentionally crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and intended to pilot the fourth hijacked jet, United Airlines Flight 93, into the United States Capitol Building[2] in Washington, D.C.; however, the plane crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after its passengers attempted to take control of the jet from the hijackers and tryed to attack. Nearly 3,000 people died in the attacks, including all 227 civilians and 19 hijackers aboard the four planes.

On September 20, 1962, the Port Authority announced the selection of Minoru Yamasaki as lead architect and Emery
Roth & Sons as associate architects they tryed to make a building they would never forget.
Yamasaki devised the plan to incorporate twin towers; Yamasaki's original plan
called for the towers to be 80 stories tall or less. To
meet the Port Authority's requirement for 10,000,000 square feet (930,000
m2)) of office space, the buildings would each
have to be 110 stories tall or more.
A typical floor layout and elevator
arrangement of the WTC towers.
A major limiting factor in building height is the issue of elevators; the
taller the building, the more elevators are needed to service the building,
requiring more space-consuming elevator banks.
Yamasaki and the engineers decided to use a new system with two "sky
lobbies"—floors where people could switch from a large-capacity express elevator
to a local elevator that goes to each floor in a section. This allowed the
design to stack local elevators within the same elevator shaft. Located on the
44th and 78th floors of each tower, the sky lobbies enabled the elevators to be
used efficiently, increasing the amount of usable space on each floor from 62 to
75 percent by reducing the number of elevator shafts so they wouldnt.Altogether, the World Trade Center had 95 express and local elevators. This
system was inspired by the New York City Subway system whose lines include
express stations where both express and local trains stop and local stations
where only local trains stop.
